CLARENDON HILLS, Ill. (WLS) — If Disney is the happiest place on earth, a west suburban office may be a close runner up.

It’s the headquarters of The Park Planners: a company that helps families plan and book trips to Disney properties and other amusement parks.

Colleen Bentley founded the Clarendon Hills-based business seven years ago, after a trip to Disney World with her family.

“We meticulously manage everything for families from beginning to end, ensuring every detail is covered,” Bentley mentioned. “We determine the itinerary, such as where you’ll go first and which attractions you’ll visit, and tailor it specifically to each family. This includes considering the children’s ages, heights, thrill preferences, and even their favorite characters.”

Bentley says she came up with the idea of a concierge service to help families navigate planning their Disney itineraries.

Over the years, Bentley’s enterprise has expanded to include nine part-time concierge planners. These planners guide their clients through the entire trip planning process, remaining in contact with them even while they are enjoying their vacation.

Hannah Franchetti is the business manager.

“Families often express how grateful they are for this service,” Franchetti remarked. “Just yesterday, I spoke with a family heading to Aulani, and they were thrilled at the idea that they didn’t need to plan anything. They asked, ‘All we need to do is show up?’ and I replied, ‘Exactly, just secure your flights, and everything else is sorted for you.'”

Hannah Lewis came onboard as a concierge planner, after using The Park Planners during the pandemic, when she had to rebook her trip.

“Many times clients will send us pictures, which is super rewarding because we can see the expression on their face and feel the magic,” Lewis said.
