CNN’s coverage of its escalating media dispute with President Donald Trump has drawn fresh criticism.
The network faced backlash Friday after reporting that unnamed advisers were urging Trump to declare martial law. Critics characterized the claim as baseless, arguing that coverage of this kind further damages CNN’s credibility with viewers.
The controversy continued Saturday as CNN covered Trump’s visit to Knoxville, Tennessee, where he attended the college football matchup between the Texas Longhorns and the Tennessee Volunteers.
CNN continues bringing Fake News to its viewers. Fredricka Whitfield claims that “No outlet has been tapped to replace CNN, which means limited coverage of his trip.”

During the broadcast, CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield said the White House had prevented CNN from handling the presidential pool coverage. She also reported that no replacement outlet had been selected, a situation she suggested would limit coverage of Trump’s trip.
Real America’s Voice disputed that account, saying it had been chosen to provide the coverage. RAV added that its pool feed was available publicly to any network interested in covering the president.
Media analyst Brian Stelter told Whitfield that Trump was “trying to control news coverage.”

Stelter argued that the president was targeting journalists who report what he considers “unpleasant truths” about his administration. He also said CNN’s experience could ultimately affect other news organizations.
Critics responded that CNN’s discussion did not adequately acknowledge RAV’s role in producing the pool feed. They also questioned whether coverage of Trump’s appearance was meaningfully reduced, given that footage remained available to other networks.
The dispute has added to broader questions about public confidence in CNN’s reporting on the Trump administration.
