Angel Carrasco, the man accused of pushing his estranged girlfriend and their 8-month-old daughter from a 15th-floor Bronx apartment balcony—killing the young mother and critically injuring the baby—has been arrested by the United States Marshals Service.
Carrasco, 31, was taken into custody Wednesday evening, one day after he allegedly erupted in a deadly rage when efforts to reconcile with his child’s mother failed.
Carrasco allegedly shoved Nathaly Ramirez, 23, from the balcony in the early hours of Tuesday while she was holding their infant daughter, Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Police said officers found the mother and baby on the ground with injuries consistent with a fall from a significant height.
Both were rushed to Jacobi Hospital. Ramirez was pronounced dead, while her daughter remained in critical condition, according to police.
“This horrific tragedy weighs heavily on every team member who worked this case,” US Marshal Ricky J. Patel said in a statement to The Post.
Carrasco allegedly fled the scene Tuesday and remained at large until his arrest. Sources said he left behind a bouquet of flowers he had apparently brought in an attempt to repair the couple’s troubled relationship before the confrontation turned deadly.
Earlier Wednesday, the NYPD released a wanted poster that included a disturbing image of Carrasco handling a large kitchen knife inside what appeared to be an elevator.
“We owed it to the brave mother who gave her life to save her child from a vicious individual,” Patel said of the arrest. “While nothing can undo this terrible loss, taking this suspect off the street ensures he will answer for his alleged heinous actions.”
Sources told The Post that Carrasco has a history of alleged domestic violence and was charged with assault twice in separate disputes earlier this year.

He was arrested Jan. 5 for allegedly slapping Ramirez and leaving her bruised after she confronted him about communicating with a former girlfriend, according to the sources.
Three days later, Carrasco was arrested again following another dispute with Ramirez. Sources said he was charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into her apartment and waiting for her.
That case was later sealed, and additional details were not immediately available, the sources said.
Carrasco was also accused of sending threatening messages to a former girlfriend. His record includes at least two other arrests—one for alleged false impersonation and another for marijuana possession—in 2016, according to sources.
Photos from the scene showed a baby’s diaper and blanket lying outside the 18-story apartment building at 2550 Olinville Ave. in the Bronx after the incident.
Robin Mendzies, who lives in the building, said she heard someone shouting, “Jump!” in a male voice.
“Then I heard a big thud and a woman wailing, ‘No please, no!’ It sounded like she was begging for an inevitable thing not to happen,” Mendzies said.
A memorial of candles and flowers was placed outside the building Wednesday for Ramirez. It stood beside a photo of the mother and a poster declaring, “October is Domestic Violence Month.”
“In the last moment of her life, she was protecting her daughter,” said Dominique Rosado, a friend from high school.
“That’s what it means to be a mother. She was a good mother,” Rosado said.
