The Walt Disney Company is celebrating a standout showing after landing 31 Daytime Emmy nominations.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences revealed the nominees for the 53rd Daytime Emmy Awards across announcements made Monday and Tuesday.
“General Hospital” leads Disney’s slate with 13 nominations, including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, Writing, Casting, Directing, Camerawork, Lighting, Hairstyling and acting recognition for Steve Burton (Jason Morgan), Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn Quartermaine), Braedyn Bruner (Emma Scorpio-Drake), Giovanni Mazza (Gio Palmieri), Jeff Kober (Cyrus Renault) and Eva LaRue (Natalia Rogers-Ramirez).
“Live with Kelly and Mark” earned nominations for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and for Art Direction / Set Decoration / Scenic Design.
“The View” is also nominated for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, while Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro are nominated for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. They will compete in that category against Tamron Hall.
“The Tamron Hall Show” also received a nomination for Outstanding Main Title and Graphic Design for a Daytime Program.
“Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” added to the company’s tally with nominations for Cinematography or Camerawork for a Daytime Program, Technical Direction and Video for a Daytime Program, and Outstanding Daytime Special. Hulu’s “Living Proof” and “Unleashing Hope: The Power of Service Dogs for Children with Autism” are also in the running for Daytime Special.
National Geographic’s “Superskilled with Eva zu Beck” picked up four nominations, including Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program, Daytime Personality – Non-Daily, Directing for a Daytime Non-Studio Non-Fiction Series and Cinematography or Camerawork for a Daytime Program.
ESPN’s “TrueSouth”: Ocean Springs, MS also earned a nomination for Cinematography or Camerawork.
“The Young and the Restless” and “Beyond The Gates,” “Days of Our Lives,” “The Drew Barrymore Show” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show” are among the other shows scoring multiple nominations.
The 53rd annual Daytime Emmys will be handed out Oct. 30 in Hollywood.
