Good morning and welcome to RedState’s “Morning Minute.” Here, we offer a quick look at the stories making waves right now, along with a preview of the day’s news. Think of it as your all-in-one news source to start your day off informed and ready.

TOP O’ THE MORNIN’

Top Stories Heating Up at RedState

One of the most talked-about topics involves a new poll that challenges the Democratic and media narrative. The survey reveals that a significant number of Americans are calling for mass deportations and express strong support for ICE. This sentiment could have significant implications on the political landscape and policy-making.

Another story capturing attention is a dramatic footage of a high-speed police chase in Charlotte that recently came to a thrilling conclusion. The chase ended in a way that many are finding both satisfying and noteworthy, offering a dose of real-life drama caught on video.

Additionally, the ongoing housing crisis in California remains a hot topic. The debate around the “just build more housing” solution is facing scrutiny as the approach increasingly appears inadequate for addressing the state’s complex housing issues. This discussion is crucial for understanding the challenges and potential solutions in the housing sector.

Why ‘Just Build More Housing’ Is Failing Californians

In cities like Lomita, Torrance, and Redondo Beach, new entry-level ownership is not realistic at scale. Existing homes and regional growth are the path to ownership. Supply policy must focus on cost discipline, not just unit counts.

Colorado Governor Breaks With Attorney General Over Guns and Marijuana

I suspect this is just one of the statements that Polis makes from time to time in order to keep up his image as a left-libertarian politician. His post is the first comment I’ve ever seen from him that indicates the Second Amendment protects a real right, and it’s pretty telling that it’s in the context of marijuana use and not, say, when it comes to purchasing and possessing commonly owned arms.

Pravda Technique to Watch Out For

None of the people giving glowing interviews and tongue baths to Don Lemon actually informs viewers what Lemon was indicted for, or what the evidence presented was. It is right there in the indictment. You can believe that Lemon should be given the benefit of the doubt—that is for a jury to decide—but in the media, there are not two sides to the argument; it is the fascists versus the heroes.

First They Came for the Plastic Pigs, but I Was Not a Plastic Pig, so I Said Nothing

This is much more than just an argument over restaurant advertising. The demands will not stop with plastic pigs. Italy, and Europe as a whole, is going to have to decide at some point whether it will stand up for its own culture and mores, or surrender and accept those of the Muslim newcomers.

So, About That Whistleblower Complaint Against Tulsi Gabbard…

So, in short, someone alleged wrongdoing, and the contents remain highly classified, so neither the publication nor the whistleblower’s attorney has reviewed any meaningful files or evidence on the matter.

Keep playing offense. Run up the score. Drive the left straight off the field ahead of the midterms.

Today on Capitol Hill…

Busy day on the Hill on Tuesday. There are multiple hearings/meetings, including:

  • House Homeland Security, Transportation and Maritime Security Subcommittee — “Frontline Defenders: How the Coast Guard’s Deployable Specialized Forces Combat Narcoterrorists and other Maritime Threats on the High Seas”
  • House Foreign Affairs, Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee — U.S. Policy Toward Lebanon: Obstacles to Dismantling Hezbollah’s Grip on Power

  • Senate Judiciary — Hearings to examine hidden facts regarding Nazis and Swiss banks
  • House Energy and Commerce, Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee — Common Schemes, Real Harm: Examining Fraud in Medicare and Medicaid

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the House today as they’re expected to vote on ending the shutdown. The procedural vote to adopt the rule is expected to begin late Tuesday morning.

The procedural vote to adopt the rule, which governs debate, is expected to begin around 11:15 a.m. ET.

Once Republicans overcome the procedural vote, the House can begin an hour of debate on the funding package, which is equally divided between Republicans and Democrats.

A vote on final passage is expected after 1 p.m.

White House What’s Up

As the House is beginning its procedural vote, President Trump will be meeting with Colombian President Gustavo Petro in the Oval Office. In the afternoon, Trump will participate in “signing time,” also in the Oval Office.

Vice President JD Vance is touting Larry Kudlow’s recent article regarding tariffs.

Keeping Up With the Cabinet

Sec. Veterans Affairs – Doug Collins — Collins joined Fox & Friends Tuesday morning to discuss the Great American Recovery Initiative aimed at helping veterans recovering from addiction.
