SAN DIEGO — San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is in full swing, and that means exciting moments from Walt Disney Studios in Hall H.

On Thursday, the Demigods took center stage at Hall H, offering fans an exclusive preview of the second season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” set to debut on Disney+ on December 10.

Friday offered two special panels, one for 20th Century Studios’ “Predator: Badlands,” and one for Disney’s “TRON: Ares.”

The “Predator” segment began with an impressive entrance by a real-life Predator, standing at 7 feet tall, using its heat-sensing abilities to scan the hall filled with over 6,500 Comic-Con fans, eventually identifying moderator Kevin Smith.

Elle Fanning, Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, director and producer Dan Trachtenberg, along with creature designer Alec Gillis, engaged in a Q&A session, highlighting aspects of the forthcoming action-adventure movie.

“In the ‘Predator’ movies, the Predator never wins. They are supposed to be the greatest warrior in the galaxy, and they are always the bad guy,” says Trachtenberg. “The Predator is not a friendly creature… It is ferocious, a bad ass, and very much an anti-hero. And I was really interested in switching that up and pairing a Predator with someone totally unexpected and taking these two unique characters on an incredibly emotional and visceral journey.”

Fans also got an exclusive look at the alternate ending of the recent animated film “Predator: Killer of Killers,” which featured franchise favorites Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover. The extended ending is available on Hulu.

The panel concluded with a screening of the first 15 minutes of “Predator: Badlands,” which premieres in theaters November 7. Watch the trailer here.

Next up were the cast and crew of “TRON: Ares,” Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, Jeff Bridges, director Joachim Rønning and creator Steven Lisberger, there to speak about the third installment to the “TRON” franchise.

“Ares’s journey is all about what it means and takes to be human. And trying to answer those questions is why I wanted to tell this story,” says Joachim Rønning. “I want to make movies for the big screen. That’s what I grew up with and what made me want to become a filmmaker. Cinema is my art form. And ‘TRON: Ares’ is just that: a full-blooded cinema experience. Myself, and hundreds of amazing craftspeople have worked our asses off for two years to make sure of that.”

Fans previewed the light cycle chase scenes and an extended first look at the Dillinger Grid – an immersive digital world created by Julian Dillinger. They also got an exclusive look at the music video of Nine Inch Nails’ “As Alive as You Need Me to Be,” the first single from the album’s soundtrack.

“TRON: Ares” premieres in theaters October 10.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of 20th Century Studios and this ABC station.
