Man arrested at Trump's Miami golf club for disorderly conduct, Secret Service says

A man was taken into custody on Saturday at President Trump’s Doral National Golf Club near Miami following an alleged disturbance, as reported by the U.S. Secret Service.

The incident unfolded while President Trump was not present at the club, according to the Secret Service.

Michael Townsend, the acting special agent in charge for Secret Service Miami, detailed that around 4:15 p.m., the man approached a security checkpoint at the golf club and became “disruptive” when he refused to comply with lawful commands. This information was delivered through a statement from Townsend.

The man, who has yet to be publicly named, reportedly made physical contact with a Secret Service member. He was subsequently detained without further complications. Following his arrest by the Doral Police Department, he faced charges of disorderly conduct and resisting without violence, Townsend added.

“At no time did this event compromise the security measures put in place by the Secret Service for the President’s visit to the Trump Doral National Golf Club,” Townsend assured.

This incident came on the heels of a more serious episode the previous week, when gunfire erupted during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C. President Trump was swiftly escorted away from the podium. In that earlier case, a Secret Service agent was struck by a bullet but was safeguarded by a bulletproof vest. The suspect, Cole Tomas Allen, now faces charges of attempting to assassinate the president.

In 2024, Secret Service spotted a man who was allegedly aiming his rifle at then-candidate Trump at his Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, and later engaged in gunfire with the suspect before arresting him. The man, Ryan Routh, was later convicted of trying to assassinate a presidential candidate and sentenced to life in prison
