DOE Takes a Scalpel to 'Nearly $8B' in Blue States' Green Energy Waste During Schumer Shutdown

The Democrats seem to have significantly misjudged their strategy in causing a government shutdown, a misstep that became evident just hours after the Schumer Shutdown took effect on October 1.

RedState wrote about the imminent federal government firings and layoffs:

Politico reported that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director, Russ Vought, disclosed during a private call on Wednesday that substantial layoffs or terminations within the federal workforce were imminent. This means notices could be issued as early as the end of the week. Indeed, voting decisions do have impactful repercussions.

According to four anonymous sources familiar with the conversation, OMB chief Russ Vought informed House Republicans during a private call that the administration planned to initiate significant workforce reductions or firings of federal employees “within a day or two.”

Furthermore, as noted by my colleague Ward Clark earlier on Thursday, President Trump expressed his eagerness on a Truth Social post to meet with OMB head Vought later that afternoon to closely examine what unnecessary government expenditures could be slashed—particularly those favored by the Democrats.
