Ed Martin, serving as a pardon attorney and leading the Department of Justice’s weaponization task force, is initiating a formal investigation into former President Joe Biden’s pardons, which were granted during the final days of his presidency.

This, according to an email sent to staff on Monday.

Martin intends to explore whether Biden “was competent and whether others were exploiting his situation through the use of AutoPen or other methods,” as reported in a statement obtained by Reuters.

The high-profile investigation will concentrate on the extensive pardons given to members of the Biden family, as well as examine the cases of 37 individuals whose death row sentences were changed to life imprisonment.
