Abstaining from alcohol doesn’t appear to be her style.
A driver described as “incoherent” was reportedly discovered amidst a collection of empty Fireball whiskey bottles after crashing her vehicle on a Florida golf course, according to authorities.
Erika Mayer, 34, faces accusations of driving under the influence when she steered her red Hyundai onto the Streamsong Golf Resort near Bowling Green last Thursday evening.
After the mishap, Polk County Sheriff’s deputies located Mayer sitting close to her vehicle. Despite the situation, she allegedly insisted she hadn’t been drinking.
However, deputies observed she was “incoherent, unsteady, and slurred in her speech”—along with a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her.
A search of the car revealed a trove of empty bottles, including 21 open mini-bottles of Fireball whiskey and a pair of consumed bottles of 99 Brand liqueurs.

An unopened 10-pack of Fireball was also stashed in the vehicle, deputies said.
She then allegedly refused to participate in field sobriety tests, arguing that she had been told by friends and social media that it was a bad idea to do them.
Mayer was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI with property damage and refusing a DUI test.
