In Hillside, Illinois, a major investigation led to the closure of several lanes on Interstate 290 in the western suburbs of Chicago on Thursday morning. The incident caused disruptions as authorities blocked traffic in both directions between 25th Avenue and Wolf Road.
High above the scene, Chopper 7 captured footage of an SUV stranded in a middle lane, its windows shattered. The situation appeared serious enough to warrant the attention of a bomb squad from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, which was seen assessing the vehicle.
