Elliot Page revealed that he recently suffered from a transphobic attack.
The Juno star, 36, shared that a man threatened him with assault outside his hotel in Los Angeles in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times.
The actor said the man yelled, ‘I’m going to f*****g gay bash you, f****t,’ while he was walking to a convenience store located on Sunset and La Cinega in West Hollywood in 2022.
Elliot, who was once known as Ellen Page and came out as transgender in 2020, said he then went into the store to seek help from the employees, at which point the man yelled, ‘This is why I need a gun!’
Elliot shared he now feels less safe when visiting the City of Angels, telling the publication, ‘Now when I’m in Los Angeles, I don’t feel comfortable like I used to going for walks.’

The Oscar-nominated actor, who is busy promoting his memoir Pageboy, told the Los Angeles Times reporter that the experience took place close to where they were meeting for the interview.
He also told the publication that though he may feel unsafe in certain places, he still has the privilege of being able to pay for private security and stay in safe hotel rooms.
‘Doesn’t mean it’s not traumatic,’ Elliot added. ‘But I have resources that, in every instance that is difficult, protect and can shield me from these things.’
It comes after Page recently recalled another unfortunate circumstance, when a ‘famous a**hole’ told him being gay ‘doesn’t exist’ at a party in Los Angeles back in 2014.
Page recounted the moment in his upcoming memoir Pageboy in a chapter entitled ‘Famous A**hole at Party.’
The person was an actor who Page referred to as an ‘acquaintance’, but his name was never revealed in the book.
In an excerpt obtained by People, Page recalled being told by the actor: ‘You aren’t gay. That doesn’t exist. You are just afraid of men.’
Then, Page claims the actor told him: ‘I’m going to f**k you to make you realize you aren’t gay.’
