Erika Kirk, the wife of the late conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, shared her experience with mourning in a social media update a month after her husband was tragically killed on September 10 at a TPUSA event hosted at Utah Valley University.

“There is no straightforward path through grief,” she posted on Instagram on Friday. “One moment you might find yourself on the floor, calling out Jesus’ name between struggling breaths.”

A photograph of Charlie Kirk with Erika and their children was taken during a memorial service for all members at the U.S. Capitol’s Statuary Hall in Washington, D.C. On Friday, the mourning widow shared a video in remembrance of her husband’s legacy.

Kirk has said she forgives Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing her husband in Orem, Utah.

A video of the grieving widow weeping over her husband’s casket went viral. The couple met in 2018, and had two young daughters.

“As these 30 days have passed, I’ve come to understand that the deeper the sorrow, the purer the love,” she expressed. “And my love for him has never been stronger than it is now.”
