Erika Kirk shared a poignant video on Monday featuring her late husband, Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, recounting the story of their first meeting to their daughter. Seated at a location he refers to as Bill’s Burgers — likely Bill’s Bar & Burger — with his young daughter on his lap, Kirk narrates their tale.

“It began as a job interview,” he says, “where I asked numerous questions on topics like philosophy, religion, and Jesus. But soon, I realized Mama was not only beautiful but also smart, elegant, and Christ-like, so I thought, ‘forget this job interview, I want to date you.’ I had enough friends then, and that’s how your story started.”

“Story time: We’re at Bill’s Burgers in New York City, and right near this very table was the first time Dada met Mama,” Kirk begins.

Charlie asked Erika to marry him in December 2020. She posted engagement photos on Instagram with the caption, “When God writes your love story, you marry your best friend.” They were wed in May 2021, less than a year later.

On Friday, just two days after the tragic loss of her husband, Erika publicly addressed the assassination and Charlie’s enduring legacy. She expressed that the movement he initiated would continue, including upcoming campus tours and America Fest 2025.

“Two days ago, my husband, Charlie, went to see the face of his [S]avior and his God,” she said through tears. “And one of the final conversations that he had on this earth, my husband witnessed for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Now and for all eternity he will stand at his Savior’s side wearing the glorious crown of a martyr.”

She added that Charlie’s favorite Bible verse was Ephesians 5:25, which says: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”
