Sean Charles Dunn, an employee of the Justice Department, was terminated after allegedly throwing a sandwich at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent earlier this month and now faces a misdemeanor charge.

Dunn was previously charged with a felony, but a grand jury declined to hand down an indictment.

“I will continue to explore all possible avenues to ensure offenders are held accountable. Although the DC grand jury did not return a true bill that aligns with the clear wording of the statute on the felony charge in this situation, we remain unwavering in our dedication to public safety,” stated U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro in a statement acquired by Fox News Digital.

Dunn is accused of throwing “a sandwich at him, hitting (the CBP agent) in the chest,” according to the document. “During processing at Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District, DUNN admitted to MTP Officer Gurkaranjot Thandi, ‘I did it. I threw a sandwich.'”
