Grammy House NY pop-up celebrates the artists and visionaries shaping the future of music

NEW YORK — When the Grammys come to mind, one often envisions a dazzling night filled with music’s most prestigious accolades. Yet, for the Recording Academy, a Grammy symbolizes not only the glamour but also the myriad of individuals who sustain the music industry and the artists who share their creations with the world.

In an effort to foster a sense of community within the music scene, the Recording Academy launched its second annual Grammy House pop-up right in the bustling heart of New York City. This initiative aimed to provide a space where industry professionals could come together and celebrate their shared passion.

“This pop-up hosts so many different communities,” stated Ricky Lyon, the Recording Academy’s Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The Grammy House offered an array of events, including the Black Music Collective Brunch and Frecuencia Latina, the first-ever showcase dedicated to Latin music. Over the course of two days, attendees were treated to a series of engaging and meaningful programs powered by the Recording Academy’s DREAM Network.

Lyon elaborated, “It stands for ‘Diversity Reimagined by Engaging All Music People’. It’s The Recording Academy’s way of ensuring we represent as many voices as possible because we embody music. We make sure that everyone can see themselves reflected in what we are representing.”

Apart from its rich lineup of panels, Grammy House featured exclusive performances by rising stars such as Slayyyter, aLex vs aLex, and Mad Tsai. Attendees also enjoyed perks like specially crafted Patron cocktails and a fun Photo Booth courtesy of United Airlines.

With its diverse and engaging schedule, Grammy House NY emerged as a distinctive hub where industry insiders, musicians, and creative talents could network and forge valuable connections.

“You listen to music and you feel so much from it. But then you come to places like this, and you get to mingle with some of the people who made the music, who tell the stories,” Lyon says. “You get to mingle with people: that might be your coworkers, or people that work in the industry. You really get to have that Recording Academy or ‘Grammy’ experience with different members and feel that moment of belonging.”

The Grammy Awards will air live on ABC from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027. The show will also stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
