Federal officials highlight arrests of migrants convicted of arson, other crimes as enforcement continues

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced the arrest of multiple individuals residing illegally in the United States, convicted of serious crimes such as arson, drug trafficking, and burglary. This action is part of the agency’s ongoing national enforcement efforts.

According to ICE, around 70% of those detained had been either charged with or convicted of criminal activities within the U.S. This statistic underscores the agency’s focus on enhancing public safety, as emphasized by officials.

“Yesterday, ICE’s dedicated team continued their mission to protect American communities by apprehending arsonists, assailants, drug traffickers, and other criminal aliens,” stated acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis in a recent announcement.

She added, “Under President Donald Trump, our stance is clear: If you enter our country illegally and violate our laws, we will locate and arrest you.”

Juan Reyes-Gonzalez, a Colombian national, was also arrested after a burglary conviction in Carmel, New York.

ICE did not provide a total number of arrests tied to the announcement but said the cases reflect broader enforcement priorities targeting individuals with criminal records.
