HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KGO) — For the second time this week, a helicopter has crashed in California.
The accident occurred on Saturday at Huntington Beach, resulting in injuries to at least five individuals. The crash ended with the helicopter being entangled and left dangling from several palm trees.
According to investigators, the helicopter went down in the afternoon near an intersection along the Pacific Coast Highway. The wreckage was found wedged between trees in front of a Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Numerous videos posted online depict the aircraft spinning clockwise above Huntington Beach before it hurtles towards the beach’s edge. There, it became caught between the palm trees and a staircase. Footage shows first responders and many bystanders rushing to the accident site.

The Huntington Beach police reported that two individuals who were inside the helicopter were rescued from the debris. Additionally, three people on the street were also injured. All five individuals were transported to the hospital, although their medical conditions remain unknown.
The cause of the crash is not yet clear.
The department said the helicopter was associated with an annual “Cars ‘N Copters” fundraising event planned for Sunday.
