FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. — A property owner came across human remains along the St. Johns River in Fleming Island on Wednesday, as noted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

The property owner contacted 911 at approximately 5:07 p.m. to alert them to remains discovered in the river near the 3200 block of U.S. 17, close to the Doctors Lake bridge. In response, the CCSO sent patrol officers, detectives, and a dive team to the area.
