Woman found dead in clothing donation box: Florida cops

A homeless woman was discovered deceased in a clothing donation box in Florida on Friday. It seems she attempted to enter to retrieve donated items and got trapped, as per the police report.

The Plantation Police Department received a call at 6:45 a.m. regarding someone stuck inside the sizable, pink donation box intended for clothing and shoe contributions, according to NBC Miami.

The unidentified woman was found “partially stuck in the donation box” and police declared her dead at the scene, the outlet stated.

“Currently, it appears to be an accident, but our detective bureau is thoroughly investigating,” the Plantation Police Department stated, as reported by CBS Miami.

The victim appeared to be a middle-aged homeless woman who was attempting to retrieve donated clothing or shoes from the bin when she became fatefully stuck inside, WSVN reported.

Photos show the rectangular box being loaded up onto a flatbed truck and taken away from the scene of the death.

The donation box is just feet away from a Fort Lauderdale day care where parents arrived Friday morning to the surprising crime scene.

“I am really shocked,” one parent told that outlet. “I was wondering if something happened, if a pipe burst or something. I didn’t expect to hear a body.”

The victim will remain unidentified until authorities are able to notify her next of kin.
