A Florida man who was clocked going more than 100 miles per hour on a highway told the deputy who pulled him over that he was late for the barber.

“Why are you going so fast?” a deputy from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is heard asking 57-year-old driver Michael Stanek on body camera footage. Stanek replied, “I have an appointment with my barber.”

Stanek, a resident of Welaka, explained that he was on his way to New Smyrna Beach on September 23 when he was stopped in Palm Coast. The two places are more than an hour’s drive from each other, and the bodycam footage is timestamped after 6 p.m.

The traffic unit deputy informed Stanek that he would have to spend the night in jail for “weaving in and out of traffic” and “endangering other people’s lives.”

Michael Stanek, 57, had his arms up as the deputy approached his car after pulling him over for allegedly speeding.

“So go the speed limit… even if you’re late for a haircut,” the post said.

Florida man Michael Stanek, 57, was stopped in Palm Coast on September 23, 2025, for driving over 100 miles per hour on a highway.

The car of the man, dubbed a “super speeder,” was towed from the scene.
