Florida teen threatens to shoot up McDonald's after $5 order is messed up: police

A teenager in Florida is in custody after allegedly threatening to open fire at a McDonald’s due to an incorrect order, the Polk County Sheriff’s Department reports.

The sheriff’s office states that Dayton Schaffer, 18, faces charges for falsely reporting the use of a firearm against individuals and improperly using a two-way communication device.

According to the PCSD, Schaffer was apprehended following a report from the manager of a McDonald’s in north Lakeland. The manager informed the police that a threatening call had been made, claiming the restaurant would be shot up over a mistake with an order.
