Former NBA standout Patrick Beverley has been detained in Texas on charges of felony assault.

The 37-year-old, who previously played as a point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, was arrested on Friday at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in Richmond.

According to jail records, Beverley is charged with assaulting a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation, a third-degree felony.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying, “On Friday, November 14, 2025, at around 3:50 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 5500 block of Lady Lyle Way in Rosharon, Fort Bend County, Texas, following reports of an assault.”

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a family altercation had occurred, culminating in a violent incident. The suspect, identified as Patrick Beverley, was arrested and charged with assault involving family violence. He was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail with his bond set at $40,000. The investigation is still ongoing.

Throughout his 12-year NBA career, Beverley, who was a second-round draft pick, also played for the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Bulls, and Philadelphia 76ers.

It comes just months after Beverley announced his engagement to model girlfriend Mandana Bolourchi after popping the question in a romantic setting while on vacation together.

Beverley has dated Bolourchi, a 31-year-old fashion model, entrepreneur and influencer with over one million followers on Instagram, since 2021 after reportedly meeting in California during his stint with the Clippers.

The social-media beauty was born in Iran and has also lived in Dubai, though she has resided in Los Angeles in recent years.

Since leaving the NBA last year, on the back of a controversial end to his spell with the Milwaukee Bucks, Beverley most recently played in the Israeli Basketball Premier League with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Before departing Hapoel via mutual consent, he was suspended by the team for mocking his coach, Dimitris Itoudis, on social media after being benched during a championship loss in February.

Beverley was also sued by two women over a heated courtside altercation that occurred towards the end of his time in Milwaukee, which saw him take his anger out after a playoff defeat to the Indiana Pacers by throwing a ball towards rival fans and hitting a woman on the side of the head.

The NBA issued a four-game suspension to him over the incident, which he is yet to serve after leaving Milwaukee on the back of that defeat.

Klay Thompson blasted Beverley and Jason Williams (left) after they suggested Megan Thee Stallion is to blame for Thompson’s on-court struggles

This week, Klay Thompson branded Beverley and fellow former NBA star Jason Williams ‘disgusting and disturbing’ after their vile conversation about his girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion.

Amid his on-court struggles for the Dallas Mavericks, Williams suggested Thompson’s romance with the American rapper could explain why his form has dipped on the latest episode of his and Beverley’s Hoopin’ N Hollering podcast.

‘It only takes one p**** to drag a battleship across the desert,’ the ex-NBA Champion said. ‘That’s how powerful it is.’

‘Klay Thompson, I ain’t sayin’ that’s what it is,’ Williams added. ‘But that might be what it is.’

After hearing the offensive sexual remark, Thompson snapped back at both Williams and Beverley over their viral podcast moment, urging the pair to ‘do better’.

The Mavericks guard wrote in the comments section of Hoopin’ N Hollering’s post on Instagram: ‘Referring to my GF as a “p***y” is so disgusting and disturbing. Especially from someone who played in the NBA. How would yall feel if I referred to your wives in such a way ? @patbev21.

‘Do better fellas. Very disappointing’.
