FX’s The Shards Taps Troye Sivan, Leland and Star Hayes Warner for New Music

The ensemble cast of “The Shards” features Kaia Gerber, Wes Bentley, Evan Rachel Wood, Jordan Roth, Igby Rigney and Graham Campbell.

“Every summer has its dark side.” Grammy-nominated artist Troye Sivan and his frequent collaborator Leland have revealed that they are writing original music for “The Shards,” the latest FX drama from Ryan Murphy.

The pair shared the announcement on Instagram, where Sivan teased the project by writing, “Had so much fun writing some songs for this spooky sexy show.”

Hayes Warner, the rising pop performer who also appears in “The Shards” as Debbie Schaffer, will contribute to the series’ original music as well.

The FX series is adapted from Bret Easton Ellis’ bestselling novel of the same name. Set in 1980s Los Angeles, the story centers on a group of high school seniors attending an exclusive prep school. Their world is disrupted by the arrival of Robert Mallory, played by Homer Gere, a mysterious new student whose presence appears to echo The Trawler, a serial killer targeting local teens.

The cast also includes Kaia Gerber, Wes Bentley, Evan Rachel Wood, Jordan Roth, Igby Rigney and Graham Campbell.

“The Shards” debuts Aug. 5 with a two-episode premiere on FX and Hulu starting at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
