Authorities are investigating after gunfire struck the ABC10 news station in Sacramento, California on Friday afternoon.
Police responded to the television station’s building at about 1:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting, according to FOX 11 LA.
While there were employees in the building at the time of the shooting, there were no injuries, according to the report.
The local police have not yet disclosed any motives or suspect details. However, The Sacramento Bee noted a small protest that occurred outside the station on Thursday.
The report mentioned that approximately 15 individuals gathered outside the building to voice their disapproval of Disney-owned ABC’s decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel. This action followed remarks he made regarding the murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk and Kirk’s alleged assassin.
Although Disney owns the ABC network, it’s important to note that the affiliate station ABC10 is owned by Tegna. Nexstar Media Group has plans to acquire Tegna in a deal valued at $6.2 billion, as per a statement from Nexstar.
