Idaho murder victim's parents reveal heartbreaking words they would say to Bryan Kohberger in a face-to-face talk

The grieving parents of one of Bryan Kohberger’s victims have shared the poignant reason behind their desire to meet their daughter’s killer face-to-face in prison.

Kristi and Steve Goncalves are determined to confront the man who brutally took the life of their 21-year-old daughter, Kaylee, along with three other University of Idaho students, in their off-campus residence in Moscow back in November 2022.

“I would ask him why,” Kristi told the Daily Mail, expressing her deep need for answers from Kohberger, who has confessed to the horrific crimes but remains silent on his motives.

“Please, please, please. Do you not think that our family has been through enough?” she pleaded.

Kristi emphasized the need for closure, citing the unimaginable suffering Kaylee endured, including 38 stab wounds, and the evidence that she fought her attacker.

She also revealed the extent of the injuries inflicted by Kohberger, which included severe facial trauma, such as a broken nose and crushed facial bones.

“And you know this because you were there. Can you just tell me why,” Kristi pleaded in a message to the twisted former Washington University graduate.

“I’m a mother, and you have a mother too. Can you please just tell me why?”

Kaylee’s father calmly added: “That’s all you would have to do. Explain to us how that happened and what other weapon you used.”

Here’s the latest coverage on Bryan Kohberger:

Kohberger copped to fatally stabbing Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin on Nov. 13, 2022, and cut a surprise deal just weeks before his highly anticipated trial was set to kick off last summer.

The deal saw him skirt the possibility of the death penalty, enraging some of the families of his victims and leaving the loved ones with no explanation for why he committed the heinous murders.

“Not having the motive is very hard,” Kristi told the outlet, describing how the notion plagues her daily.

“I am constantly thinking why? Why our kids? Why that house? When was it the beginning of the end for them – when did he hone in on them and say, this girl or this girl? I’m sure he knew their names, whether or not it was one or two of them he was going after.

“There’s still a chance that we could get that answer. He’s still alive in prison.”

Kohberger is serving four life sentences without the possibility of parole at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution.
