A woman in Clay County is facing serious charges after an alleged violent altercation with her estranged daughter. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has taken Serpil Adams into custody for attempted second-degree murder.
In a startling incident, a grandmother from Clay County, Florida, has been accused of attempting to murder her daughter. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest.
The accused, 62-year-old Serpil Adams, allegedly forced her way into her daughter’s home in Oakleaf Plantation on Monday, November 17. She now faces charges of second-degree murder following the reported attack.
The incident unfolded around 3 p.m. on Reese Avenue, as detailed in a press release from the sheriff’s office. Adams reportedly entered through an unlocked door and assaulted her daughter with a serrated utility knife while her grandchildren were present.
The situation took an unexpected turn when the victim’s 8-year-old daughter intervened. According to authorities, the child used a kitchen knife to stab Adams in the upper arm, enabling her mother to escape further harm. Adams then left the scene in her car and was later apprehended by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at a friend’s residence.
Thankfully, neither the victim nor her children sustained injuries during this alarming incident, as reported by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
Adams is currently being held on a $500,003 bond.
