Defense attorney Alan Jackson has announced that he is representing Nick Reiner, who faces charges in the murder of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. Jackson, known for his work with high-profile clients such as Harvey Weinstein and Karen Read, stated that Reiner will not be present in court this Tuesday due to unspecified medical reasons.

Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, Jackson explained that while he was unaware of the specific medical condition affecting Reiner, his client is expected to appear in court by Wednesday. Jackson’s involvement in this case adds another high-profile client to his extensive legal portfolio.

Alan Jackson is a renowned attorney at the firm Werksman Jackson & Quinn LLP, where he has built a reputation for his strategic prowess in high-stakes cases. He prominently defended Harvey Weinstein during his trial in Los Angeles and achieved an acquittal for Karen Read in a Massachusetts murder case, an achievement highlighted in an HBO documentary.

The firm’s website praises Jackson’s “strategic expertise and courtroom presence,” noting his instrumental role in securing a not guilty verdict for Read, further solidifying his status as a leading criminal defense lawyer in the nation.

Who is Alan Jackson?

Jackson is a high-profile lawyer who represented Harvey Weinstein at his Los Angeles trial and Karen Read at her trial in Massachusetts. He was a central figure in the HBO documentary on the Read case.

Jackson, a partner at the firm Werksman Jackson & Quinn LLP, was lead counsel in Read’s case and secured an acquittal in the death of her boyfriend.

The bio on his firm’s website proclaims that in the Read case, Jackson’s “strategic expertise and courtroom presence were instrumental in securing a not guilty verdict in the high-stakes murder retrial, further cementing his reputation as one of the country’s top criminal defense lawyers.”

Before going into private practice, Jackson was a prosecutor in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and secured the murder conviction of music icon Phil Spector.

“His client list reads like a who’s who of Hollywood celebrities, NBA stars, billionaire CEOs, and foreign dignitaries — all turning to him for ‘must-win’ cases,” his attorney bio states.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and studied law at Pepperdine University.
