One victim from the Boulder, Colorado, suspected terror attack is a Holocaust survivor, according to a government official.

On Sunday, eight individuals sustained injuries, with one person in serious condition, following an alleged attack by Mohamed Sabry Soliman. The accused reportedly targeted a peaceful pro-Israel protest advocating for the release of Hamas hostages. The police reported receiving calls about a man attempting to set people on fire.

Leo Terrell, who serves as senior counsel for the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, commented on X that one of the injured is a Holocaust survivor.

“A Holocaust survivor was among those injured in the Boulder attack. Having survived the greatest atrocities in history, she sought refuge in America,” Terrell stated. “Yet now, decades later, she suffers once more, attacked by someone shouting ‘Free Palestine.’ This was the same slogan another attacker screamed when committing the killings of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim on May 21.”

“The attack on this survivor reminds me of the horror of October 7, when Holocaust survivors were murdered and dragged away by Hamas terrorists in Israel,” he added.

Soliman, 46, was charged with first-degree murder, crimes against at-risk adults/elderly, assault, criminal attempt to commit class one and class two felonies and use of explosives or incendiary devices during a felony. (Boulder Police Department)

The sources said Soliman first entered the U.S. on Aug. 27, 2022 on a B1/B2 non-immigrant, visa that expired on Feb. 26, 2023, but he didn’t leave.

Soliman filed a claim with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services on March 29, 2023, which authorized him to work through March 2025.

FBI director Kash Patel has described the incident as a terror attack.
