Exciting updates have emerged about the upcoming second season of “Deli Boys.”
This series from Onyx Collective centers around two Pakistani American siblings who inherit their father’s deli after his untimely death, only to uncover his hidden criminal activities. The show features performances by Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Poorna Jagannathan, and Fred Armisen.
The official description for this season reveals that the Dar brothers are neck-deep in illicit money, drawing the attention of Philadelphia’s most dubious characters. Enter Max Sugar—an intriguing figure who is both a casino tycoon and a money launderer, and who also becomes a new romantic interest for Lucky. Meanwhile, Raj is plotting his revenge on Ahmad, Mir aims to expand the family business, DarCo, without causing chaos, and Philadelphia’s District Attorney, Andrew Chadwater, is on a quest for a significant bust to propel him to the mayor’s office.
Tan France will reprise his role as Zubair, the British gangster.
In addition, Kumail Nanjiani joins the cast as Danyal, an attorney hired by Max Sugar, portrayed by Armisen.
Lilly Singh is set to make a guest appearance as Aisha, the wife of Maalik Ali, played by Shahjehan Khan, who harbors a fixation on Raj, played by Shaikh.
Robin Thede guest stars as Dr. Iverson, a couples therapist with questionable ethics.
Andrew Rannells recurs as Andrew Chadwater, a district attorney with political aspirations of becoming mayor.
Ali and Jagannathan hinted at some exciting new guest stars when On The Red Carpet caught up with them at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in February.
“We have unbelievable guest stars. Like you actually…it’s incomprehensible,” said Jagannathan.
“It was truly like an exciting elevation of where we ended up in season one, so I’m just excited for people to see it,” added Ali.
You can see season two of “Deli Boys” May 28 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
