GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — The FBI detained over 30 people during an immigration enforcement operation in Gulf Shores on Tuesday.

The FBI shared these photos of the operation at the new Gulf Shores High School construction site.

Gulf Shores police, Orange Beach police, and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office collaborated in this joint operation. Medical units were on standby in case of emergencies, though no injuries were reported. Those apprehended during the operation were transported to a federal facility.

“The City of Gulf Shores and Gulf Shores City Schools have been informed about a federal immigration inspection at the construction site for the new Gulf Shores High School,” said a joint statement. “The construction area is fully managed by the general contractor, and no employees from the city or schools were present during the inspection.

“For any further information regarding this inspection, we encourage inquiries to be directed to the involved parties.”
