AN INFLUENCER has been shot dead in front of her young son after being caught in the crossfire of a road rage dispute.
Yarely Ashley Hermosillo, 27, was in her husband’s car when she was caught by a stray bullet as two drivers started fighting at a red light.
Yarely was hit in the head by the bullet which was fired from a handgun.
She was rushed to a local hospital in Arizona but tragically passed away shortly after arriving.
The popular social media star was in the passenger seat when they came to a stop at a red light in Glendale.
Two cars pulled up next to them in separate lanes with both drivers visibly aggressive with each other as they also came to a halt.
A motorist named Jesus Preciado Dousten, age 33, was positioned in the center lane while the other driver he had a disagreement with was halted in the right lane, as reported by Glendale police.
Dousten is alleged to have pulled out a handgun, pointed it at his own driver’s side window and fired a single shot.
The bullet went through the passenger window of the car and fatally struck Yarely in the head.
Her mum and four-year-old son were sat in the back seat at the time of the shooting.
Police are now investigating why the gun was fired at the car Yarely was in.
Glendale Police Sgt Brian Hoskins told AZ Family: “My question still is, why would you just randomly shoot the other way?
“He obviously didn’t know the other car was there.”
Police used surveillance footage to identify Dousten as the driver as they quickly tracked him down.
He was arrested as police executed a search warrant at a home he had visited after the shooting.
They recovered two handguns.
Dousten was later charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, misconduct involving weapons and endangerment.
The stay-at-home mum had over 300,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
She had amassed a huge audience due to her entertaining cooking content and parenting advice.
The grieving family of Yarely expressed their feelings in a heartfelt statement: “Yarely was a cherished wife, dedicated mother, and a bright spirit whose warmth touched everyone around her.”
“She leaves behind her husband and their 4-year-old son, who now face an unimaginable loss.
“Yarely’s greatest joy in life was being a mother, and she poured her heart into caring for her little boy.
“She was an innocent victim caught in the middle of a road rage incident between others, leaving her family and friends devastated.”
The family started a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses and have already raised almost $12,000.
Her family further commented: “While nothing can replace the void left by Yarely’s absence, your kindness and generosity will offer comfort and stability to her family as they adjust to life without her.”
