Nathan Vilas Laatsch, a 28-year-old IT expert with Top Secret clearance at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), was taken into custody for trying to hand over classified military intelligence to a foreign country.
The reason he was willing to commit such an alleged crime is pure TDS – He finds the current administration to be “extremely disturbing.”
It’s something when your mental frailties prompt you to engage in treasonous conduct and betray your country.
As stated in court documents, Laatsch emailed someone he thought was a foreign official, but in reality, was an FBI agent, expressing, “I’m deeply troubled by the recent actions of the current administration.”
“I disagree with the administration’s values and plan to take action to support the principles that the United States once represented.”
Prompted by that disagreement, Laatsch on two occasions transcribed classified material into a notebook, transferred the information to a document on a thumb drive, then dropped the drive at a location presumably to be retrieved by the foreign government.
They were instead intercepted by the FBI.
