Iran agrees to give up 'nuclear dust' stockpile in deal with Trump: report

In a significant development, Iran has consented to relinquish its enriched uranium reserves, as part of an agreement declared by President Trump on Saturday.

According to a report from the New York Times, which cites two American officials, Tehran has committed to a formal declaration to forfeit its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. This cache was previously believed to be sufficient for the construction of approximately 11 nuclear bombs.

The issue of disposing of this enriched uranium, referred to by President Trump as “nuclear dust,” had been a major hurdle in negotiations between the United States and Iran.

Although Iran initially sought to address the fate of its nuclear materials following the conclusion of a peace agreement, U.S. officials reportedly issued a warning of potential resumption of bombing if Iran did not comply with demands to surrender its uranium.

The story is still evolving. Please stay tuned for further updates.
