Hamas Reprisals: Terror Group Accused of Killing Pregnant Woman, 5-Year-Old in Gaza

On Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a targeted airstrike in Gaza City, resulting in the death of Ra’ad Sa’ad, a prominent figure within Hamas. Sa’ad, who led weapons production for the Al-Qassam Brigades, was instrumental in orchestrating the violent attacks against Israel on October 7, 2023, according to Israeli officials.

This operation marks the latest in a series of actions by the IDF aimed at dismantling Hamas leadership and curbing its militant activities.

The IDF shared details of the strike, emphasizing its continued efforts to disrupt the capabilities of those who threaten Israel’s security.

The above tweet from the IDF continues:

Sa’ad was one of the last remaining veteran senior militants in the Gaza Strip and a close associate of Marwan Issa, the deputy head of Hamas’ military wing. He held several senior positions and was a central figure within the organization’s military leadership.

He was responsible for the deaths of many soldiers through explosive devices manufactured by Hamas’ weapons production units during the war.

In recent months, Sa’ad played a leading role in Hamas’ military wing, including direct involvement in violating the ceasefire agreement. He also oversaw the continued production of weapons in the Gaza Strip during the ceasefire period.

His elimination significantly degrades Hamas’ ability to reestablish its capabilities.

Although no one in their right mind is going to miss this killer, it’s unclear how his death will affect the fragile Israel-Hamas peace deal. Sa’ad, however, brought this on himself:

Sources within the Military Intelligence Directorate said the IDF strike on Sa’ad came in response to an attack on IDF soldiers in the Gaza Strip using an improvised explosive device. Two soldiers were lightly wounded in the attack and were transported to the hospital for medical treatment, the military confirmed.

The Hamas terrorist had reportedly been operating in Gaza’s tunnel networks — at least the ones the Israelis haven’t already destroyed — but had come aboveground and was vaporized soon thereafter. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, his security guards probably went along with him.

In recent months, Saad was directly responsible for Hamas violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

That’s one more terrorist who is no longer among us. Unfortunately, however, they are like certain insects and are extremely difficult to eradicate and tend to come crawling back out of the darkness just when you think you’ve emerged victorious.

The IDF isn’t going to stop trying, though. If you’re thinking of going into the terrorism business against Israel, know that your life expectancy can be expected to suffer significantly.
