JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE: The start of the Jacksonville Jazz Festival has been postponed until around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday due to thunderstorms in the vicinity, as announced by event organizers on social media.
The gate opening is subject to change.
Any guests waiting in line to get into the event are being asked to return to their vehicles and await further updates, the post said.
Organizers said Connie Han will no longer be performing Sunday and posted an updated lineup list with their respective times.
The festival’s organizers noted that the Jacksonville Jazz Festival will proceed rain or shine, but adjustments, such as rescheduling or cancelation of performances, may occur if the festival’s Emergency Operations Command considers the weather to be dangerously severe.
“Ensuring the safety of all attendees and performers is our highest priority,” the organizers stated. “If an evacuation becomes necessary, we recommend that attendees take refuge in their vehicles until it is safe to resume the festivities.”
Organizers ask attendees to stay up to date on the event’s official social media channels for updates.
