Police say Brandon Engeloff, 32, is facing second-degree murder, accessory after the fact and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that took place nearly four months ago on Jacksonville’s Westside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has announced that 32-year-old Brandon Engeloff is charged with second-degree murder, being an accessory after the fact, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

At around 6:30 a.m. April 15, officers had responded to a call about a shooting on the 2900 block of Ernest Street.

Upon arrival, JSO reports that officers discovered the victim, 33-year-old Christopher Cam, with gunshot injuries. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department first responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported Cam to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The sheriff’s office stated that the medical examiner later classified the cause of death as a homicide. During their investigation, detectives communicated with witnesses and sought out surveillance footage from the surrounding area.

JSO said the the investigation led detectives to identify Engeloff as a suspect. He was booked in Duval County Jail.
