A man was found with a gunshot wound to his leg, prompting police to conclude that the incident took place in a parking area near Hodges Boulevard.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are actively searching for a suspect following an early morning shooting that occurred on Beach Boulevard this past Sunday.
According to Sgt. Scott, law enforcement officials were alerted around 3 a.m. when a man appeared at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. Fortunately, the injury is not life-threatening.
Preliminary investigations and a brief conversation with the victim revealed that the man, who is in his 30s, was engaged in an altercation with another man in a parking lot near the intersection of Hodges Boulevard. During the dispute, he was shot, after which the suspect fled the scene on foot.
At this time, specific details about the events leading to the confrontation, as well as the whereabouts of the individuals prior to the shooting, remain unclear.
