Jacksonville man sentenced to 270 years for producing, distributing child sexual abuse images

Jacksonville Resident Receives 270-Year Sentence for Child Exploitation Crimes

On August 12, 2025, a federal jury convicted Joshua Davis for creating, distributing, and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville resident has been handed a 270-year federal prison sentence for his involvement in producing, distributing, and possessing child sexual exploitation content, as stated by the Department of Justice.

Identified as 53-year-old Joshua Keith Davis, he was found guilty of these serious charges on August 12, 2025.

Court records reveal that between 2011 and 2013, Davis created and shared explicit images and videos of infants and young children over the internet.

The investigation began when the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office received a tip on April 22, 2022, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip, originating from Snapchat, pointed to an account allegedly linked to Davis, containing child pornography.

Authorities contacted Davis, who admitted ownership of the account but claimed he could not recall the last usage, attributing the activity to a potential “hack.”

On June 7, 2022, the report says that the FBI contacted JSO regarding additional information from previous investigations that ties back to Davis. Shortly after, a search warrant was signed for Davis’s residence, as well as an arrest warrant for lewd or lascivious molestation of someone under the age of 12.

Davis was detained during a traffic stop on July 1, 2022, and taken to the Duval County jail. At the same time, JSO conducted the search warrant. The arrest report says that two cellphones were seized during both the traffic stop and the search warrant, and after review, JSO found a combined total of 2,411 files of CSAM, including infant children and animals.

Davis was arrested and charged with 12 counts of possession of ten or more pieces of CSAM.
