Jacksonville Shooting: Man Hospitalized After Back Injury in Post-Altercation Gunfire

A man is on the road to recovery after being shot during an altercation in Jacksonville. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the scene around Green Street just before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The incident unfolded when a confrontation involving several individuals escalated. Tensions rose when weapons were brandished, leading to a man in his mid-20s being shot in the back.

Emergency responders promptly transported the victim to the hospital, where he was treated for injuries that, fortunately, were not life-threatening.

Swift action by law enforcement led to the apprehension of the suspect responsible for the shooting. Meanwhile, others involved in the altercation were detained and are said to be cooperating with the investigation.

The suspect who used the gun was taken into custody shortly after the incident, while the others involved were reportedly detained and cooperated with law enforcement.

The man shot was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing, but authorities say this appears to be an isolated incident.
