Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin hop back into a world of animated animal fun with sequel 'Zootopia 2'

Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin are returning to the big screen as the voices behind Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps in the eagerly anticipated “Zootopia 2.” The duo reprises their iconic roles in this new Disney animated feature.

In this sequel, Nick and Judy continue their thrilling escapades as partners in the Zootopia Police Department, tackling yet another intriguing case.

For Bateman and Goodwin, participating in the film represents an extraordinary creative journey, especially given the challenge of envisioning the final product while recording their parts.

“You just contribute your voice, and then you see how it fits into this incredibly complex and vast project,” Bateman explained. “I think the crew comprised about 700 people, which is quite humbling, as you’re just a small piece of something so grand.”

Goodwin shared her experience, saying, “I spent time with one of my Judy animators, and they actually act out our scenes to our recordings. It adds another layer of human emotion that gets infused into the character. We’re like a blend of many people. It’s fascinating!”

As for merchandise related to “Zootopia 2,” there’s an abundance, yet Goodwin seems particularly captivated by one specific item.

“I keep going through McDonald’s drive-through because I want to get a Judy toy. I’ve gotten five Nicks. Five Nicks!” Goodwin said. “I’m determined to get a Judy.”

“Zootopia 2” is in theaters on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this ABC station.
