JSO: Man shot during argument with suspect on Moncrief Road

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the man suffered a non-life-threatening injury after being shot once.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is on the mend following a shooting incident that occurred during an argument in Jacksonville’s Moncrief area on Thursday night, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

According to JSO Sgt. Richardson, officers were dispatched around 9 p.m. on Thursday to the 5900 block of Moncrief Road in response to a shooting. A First Coast News team at the scene observed evidence markers on the ground in the Edgewood & Moncrief Center.

Richardson explained that the confrontation escalated when the suspect brandished a handgun, firing multiple shots towards the victim.

According to Richardson, the man was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury after being shot once.

After the shooting, which Richardson said appears to be an isolated incident, detectives responded to the scene and spoke with witnesses.
