Police said two men got out of their vehicles and began to argue, which then ended in the suspect shooting the victim.

A man is on the mend after being shot during a possible road rage conflict near a gas station in the Regency area on Saturday morning, as per the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the 9500 block of Regency Square Boulevard regarding a person shot.

Authorities discovered a man in his late 20s at the location, suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. He was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation suggested that both the victim and the suspect were driving in the vicinity when they got “entangled in a road rage altercation,” according to police.

Both the victim and suspect got out of their vehicles at the intersection, and an argument ensued, police said. That’s when police said the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.

All parties involved were detained and are currently cooperating with investigators, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the public.

JSO detectives were on scene processing evidence and canvassing for witnesses and video.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact JSO at 904-630-0500, email jsocrimetips@jaxsheriff.org or call First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
