The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says two men who were involved in the fight with the victim left the scene in a silver Jeep.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Early Saturday morning, a shooting incident on Jacksonville’s Northside resulted in a man’s hospitalization after a confrontation with two individuals, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO Sgt. Christopher Smith indicated that at about 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 10000 block of Harts Road following a report of the shooting.
Upon their arrival, Smith noted that officers encountered a man “in his early 30s” who was injured by a gunshot wound to his groin area.
Members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene, Smith said, and took the man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Smith told First Coast News one suspect took a gun out during the fight and shot the man.
Afterward, the two suspects fled the scene in a silver Jeep on Harts Road, according to Smith.
“One of the males can be described as a Black male, 6’2″ in height, wearing a black shirt, black shorts,” Smith said about one suspect. “The second male is about 5’8″, wearing a red shirt and black shorts. We’re currently looking for them at this time.”
Smith further stated that JSO has obtained surveillance video of the incident, and said that the sheriff’s office is working to learn the relationship between the suspects and man.
