JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A domestic dispute turned violent early Saturday morning in Jacksonville’s Westside, leaving a man hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the leg, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement officials responded to reports of a shooting on the 1900 block of 13th Street West at approximately 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his late 30s with a gunshot wound to his left leg. Fortunately, the injury is not considered life-threatening.
Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the altercation occurred inside a residence where the man and the suspect were engaged in a heated argument that escalated to gunfire.
“The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation,” stated JSO Sgt. Smith. “All involved parties are currently in police custody. The individuals are known to each other, having a domestic relationship, and this incident appears to be isolated with no ongoing threat to the community.”
