Knicks fans ticked at Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce rooting against team ahead of NYC nuptials

It seems Taylor Swift’s standing in New York City might be taking a hit.

The pop sensation, a well-known Manhattanite, has sparked the ire of dedicated Knicks supporters after she was seen cheering for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA playoffs. Swift was in the company of her Ohio-native partner, Travis Kelce, which further fueled the fans’ discontent.

To the Knicks community, she’s now “Turncoat Taylor.”

“She’s a traitor,” declared Knicks enthusiast Alex Jenis outside Madison Square Garden on Monday. “You can’t just switch to being a Cavs fan because your fiancé supports them. That’s not something I can get behind.”

Sharing similar sentiments, New York basketball fan Cecilia Williams expressed her disappointment: “If my fiancé cheered for the opposing team, I’d still proudly wear my Knicks jersey, even sitting right next to him.”

Another fan, Sono Singh, wasn’t mincing words either, labeling Swift as a “fake fan” and dismissing her as just another “bandwagon” supporter.

Swift, 36, has donned Knicks garb over the years, but broke the hearts of New York hoops fans Saturday after her three-time Super Bowl champ fiancé’s pro-Cavs theatrics at Rocket Arena.

The “Shake if Off” singer sat courtside as the Knicks pounded the Cavs to take a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks completed a sweep of Cleveland Monday night are now headed to the NBA Finals for the first time this century.

To her credit, she didn’t don Cavs colors — but ticked off fans as Kelce, a tight end with the NFL Kansas City Chiefs, repeatedly riled up the Cleveland crowd and even chugged a beer to try to rally the deflated hometown fans.

The high-profile couple has announced plans to marry in New York City later this year — but some Knicks fans aren’t so sure they want the nuptials in their back yard after Saturday’s spectacle.

“Take it to Ohio,” diehard fan Jordan Phillips told The Post. “I didn’t like Taylor swift to begin with so this is just another reason not to like her. Going from a Knicks fan to a Cavs fan because of your husband just means you’re not a die hard fan.”

Fan Max Modica wholeheartedlly agreed.

“They might as well get married in Cleveland. I won’t go to their wedding.”

Still some of the Knicks’ faithful gave her the benefit of the doubt — and a chance to come home.

“She gets one more chance,” fan Ryan Vargas said ahead of Monday’s game. “If we see her there tonight [for game four], her wedding should be banished to Ohio.”

Big Apple hoops fan Khoa Nguyen suggested that Swift “should write a song apologizing to the city for rooting for the Cavs.”

And what the heck: fellow fan Marcellus Brown said it may not be as bad as it seems.

“Who knows? She could be rooting for the Knicks in secret.”
