Suspecting a drug overdose, police took the 26-year-old rapper and singer to a hospital before booking him into jail.

LOS ANGELES — Rapper Lil Nas X was detained and briefly hospitalized on Thursday due to a suspected overdose after he allegedly charged at police responding to a report about a naked man on a bustling boulevard in Los Angeles.

Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing an officer and was being held in jail.

Police found him walking along the typically busy Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City area a little before 6 a.m., according to Los Angeles police spokesperson, Officer Charles Miller.

After approaching the arriving officers aggressively, he was apprehended. Believing he may have overdosed, the officers first took him to a hospital, Miller stated. There are no additional updates on his condition, but he was discharged from the hospital and brought to jail within a few hours.

Video obtained by TMZ appeared to show him on the street wearing only underwear and boots.

He was being held at Valley Jail in Van Nuys, near where the police found him.

Messages to Lil Nas X representatives seeking comment were not immediately answered.

The 26-year-old rapper and singer, originating from Atlanta, gained fame with his massive 2018 hit, “Old Town Road,” which combined elements of country and hip-hop, dominating the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 1 for a record-breaking 19 weeks.

Renowned for his boundary-pushing style and genre-bending music, his debut full-length album, “Montero,” released in 2021, reached No. 2 on the Billboard album chart and received a Grammy nomination for album of the year.
