Lindsay Clancy juror who backed the defense also publicly cheered Karen Read's acquittal

A woman reportedly identified as a juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has also shown support for Karen Read, who was acquitted last year in the death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe.

Clancy, 36, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her young children — Cora, Dawson and Callan, all younger than 6 — who were found strangled inside the family’s home in January 2023. On Friday, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a unanimous decision, with deliberations reportedly ending in an 11-1 split.

Kellie Farina, a chef at a Plymouth County senior center who reportedly sat on the Clancy jury, told NBC10 Boston that defense attorney Kevin Reddington made a stronger impression by calling witnesses who knew Clancy best.

“[Reddington] brought all these people in — people that loved her, her family, her in-laws,” Farina said. “Even Patrick [Clancy] was very compassionate.”

Farina said jurors valued that Reddington did not prolong the case with what she described as “a bunch of more medical BS,” instead focusing on “who Lindsay is and what her life was like.”

A Facebook profile tied to Farina, which identifies her as a chef at a Plymouth County senior center, had previously posted in support of Read during Read’s retrial.

“Over and out Page. Massachusetts Jury did their rightful duty today. Karen’s FREE,” Farina posted on June 18, 2025 in a “Free Karen Read” Facebook group after Read was acquitted.

“The only mention of that POS Michael Proctor by Hank Brennan is he referred to him as bogeyman proctor during his closing arguments. What a freaking joke!” Farina posted on June 13, 2025.

Farina also told NBC10 Boston that she found the Clancy prosecution to be “very, very harsh.”

She described the 911 call made by Patrick Clancy as “the most horrific thing.”

“It’s something that I will never not hear if I think about it,” Farina said.

In an interview on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Reddington said he hopes the two sides can “work something out” when asked about a possible plea agreement.

“I‘m willing to listen to Tim. I‘ve known Tim for 30 years. He‘s a very hard charging prosecutor,” Reddington said, referring to Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz. “I hope, however, after sitting through this trial and seeing the evidence that was presented from the government as well as from the defense, that he would revisit that issue and hopefully would be able to work something out that would be acceptable to both sides.”

While Cruz hasn’t indicated what he will do with Lindsay Clancy’s case after the mistrial, Sullivan set a status hearing for Sept. 29.
