Tragedy struck early Monday morning when a 28-year-old man from Long Island died in his father’s embrace, while his mother watched in disbelief. This heartbreaking scene unfolded after a planned encounter took a deadly turn, according to authorities.
Kristen Sculley, aged 22, now faces charges of second-degree murder following the fatal stabbing in Massapequa. Authorities allege that she secretly entered the victim’s basement apartment during the night for a pre-arranged meeting, which ended with her fatally stabbing him in his bed.
As Sculley was escorted to court by police on Tuesday, she was seen wearing a chilling smirk. “Our investigation suggests this woman had planned this meeting,” Nassau County Police Detective Lt. George Darienzo informed the press. “She was an acquaintance of the victim and had arranged to meet him that night.”
Darienzo further detailed that the stabbing is believed to have occurred in the bedroom. “The victim died cradled in his father’s arms. It’s an unimaginable experience for any family to witness the untimely death of their child,” he added.
According to police reports, Sculley allegedly “became angry” and attacked the victim with a pocket knife.
The detective noted that the two shared a “friendship” and had known each other “for several years,” adding a layer of complexity to the tragic incident.
Police were called to the Beaumont Avenue home around 1:30 a.m. Monday and walked into the grisly scene. They said the mortally wounded victim managed to get to his parents.
âHe climbed the stairs to seek the assistance of his mother, screaming,â Darienzo said. âHis mother and father came to his aid. They attempted to control that bleeding in the kitchen. At that point their son became unresponsive.â
He said there was evidence that the two had been doing drugs, but none where found.
Sculley was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
This is a developing story.
