In Joliet, Illinois, a chaotic scene unfolded at the Louis Joliet Mall on Saturday evening, leading to the arrest of two juveniles. According to the Joliet police, the incident erupted around 5:51 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a large group of about 50 young individuals creating a disturbance within the mall premises.

Upon arrival, officers were met with multiple fights breaking out among the juveniles. As the police intervened, several individuals fled the scene, complicating the situation. Despite the tumult, authorities managed to arrest two male juveniles on charges of disorderly conduct. They were subsequently released into the custody of their parents. Notably, no injuries were reported during the incident.

The exact cause of the disturbance remains unclear. The mall, located at 3340 Mall Loop Drive, became a focal point of concern as it dealt with the unexpected disruption. While such incidents can be unsettling for both shoppers and businesses, the quick response by law enforcement helped restore order to the area.

Two male juveniles were arrested for disorderly conduct and later released to parental custody, police said. No injuries were reported.

It is not known what led to toe disturbance.

Officers responded to the Louis Joliet Mall, located at 3340 Mall Loop Drive, on December 27, 2025, at 5:51 p.m., following reports of a large group of approximately 50 juveniles causing a disturbance inside the mall.

Responding officers were advised that multiple fights were occurring. Prior to and upon officers’ arrival, numerous juveniles fled the mall and area. Two male juveniles were arrested for Disorderly Conduct and were later released to a parent. No injuries were reported in the incident.

“The Joliet Police Department encourages parents and guardians to remain engaged and aware of their children’s activities, particularly in large public spaces,” the department said in a release. “Open communication and guidance can help reduce the likelihood of conflicts and support a safe, positive environment for shoppers and employees alike.”
